Quiet Corners of Regensburg

A quick spring stroll through some green and quiet corners of (south-)central Regensburg. These locations are right between the railway station and the market places/Cathedral. A range of about approximately 600 meters. Enough space for people, who just need a few minutes for themselves or meeting some friends for a nice coffee/beer after work as well as for runners.

A bavarian Restaurant/Café placed in an old royal stable with an own tiny brewery. Behind the round gates (and those 4 aren´t all) there is the tavern. At the opposite side of the building is a quite large terrace, facing the park. A quarter of the inner courtyard they canopied with a glass roof.

How many people are up on that tree?

Bruneck

The valley of Bruneck at the foot of Plan de Corones (Kronplatz) in the Dolomite Alps, Italy (Südtirol). Picture made out of a Gondola up to the peak Plan de Corones (Kronplatz). Also here everything was green - except the slopes. On the left side of the green valley you can even spot 100%

artifical snow slopes for cross-country skiing. Only up on the peak there was enough natural snow. View from the peak of Plan de Corones (Kronplatz).

Snow!!!

The first snow this year!!! Note in the calendar: "First snow fall in Regensburg on the 23.01.2007". And look!....Dinosaur!! Must be the climate change...

A stroll through Regensburg and it´s several Christmas-Markets. Without snow and on a very warm sunny day. And yes, it´s December.

A wishtree full of coloured ribbons of wishes by visitors. Money is for a good cause / two boys playing with wooden skittles

On my way to the celebration location, which was on a little island right below that bridge and inmidst the river Danube, I made these pictures.

WM Quarter final, Argentina vs. Germany

Invited by my co-worker Brigitte, nearly the whole team from work followed the call for watching this quarter final at her beautiful home and creating our "private fan-mile" in her cellar. After waiting for the starting whistle, we enjoyed a very exciting game, which ended up on a penalty-kick shootout 5:3 win for our finally luckier team.

I published here just a very few pictures from last night. Unfortunately you only can see a tiny extraction of the wonderfully feast, our host created for us. It was incredible. Thanks!!
