Here´s a short summary of the German broadcast documentary from 17.10.2002 about the two big Christian Churches in Germany: The Catholic and Evangelic Church and their financial situation.

• The Church, the richest company in Germany with estimated 1/2 billion € total assets (only in Germany!).
• In defiance of secularisation in 1803, the German state and it´s communities/cities still have to pay money to the Church directly or by subventions, based on this incident 200 years ago or on treaties/titles back up to even 500 years ago. This money is payed by everyone - no matter if a member of these Churches, if Christian, Muslim or Atheist. If it is for restaurating the church in a small community like Großheubach in Bavaria (183.000 €) or smallest amounts in natural taxes  like the corn tax. The Church is not even willing to cancel this ancient natural tax from the small community of Großheubach. So, since 1853, Großheubach has to figure out their corn tax dept each year, referred to the actual corn prices. In 2002 that was 130 €. When the mayor wanted to buy his community free from this antiquated natural corn tax, the Catholic Church demanded a compensation of 32.000 € for the next 100 years.
• Großheubach is everywhere, also in another bavarian community, Eichstätt. For the whole ceremony of it´s new Catholic bishop, Walter Mixa, the Bavarian state had to pay - for the whole pomp. Alike his 6 bavarian counterparts, also the complete salary of Eichstätt´s new shephard will be fully payed by the state, as well as for the official buildings (incl. maintenance) for all 7 bishops in Bavaria. The Church pays nothing.
• Alltogether, Bavaria (only Bavaria, not Germany!) payed only in the year 2002 655.000 € for it´s 7 bishops and arch bishops, 99.000 € extra-pay for 12 auxiliary bishops, 737.000 € for 14 Dignitäre, 3.914.000 € for it´s 60 Kanoniker and so on...... Even the olibanum is payed by the state.
• Both Churches (Catholic and Evangelic) in Bavaria (again, only Bavaria!) are cashing 85.932.000 € from the Bavarian state, only because of ancient titles.
• For whole Germany, both Churches get about 500.000.000 € each year based only on above mentioned old titles and secularisation duties.
• Most kindergartens in Germany are called "Catholic Kindergarten" or "Evangelic Kindergarten". Even though the average financial part of the Church is only 7 %. The "rest" is payed by the community/state. "Actually, it should be the opposite", a mayor is cited: Community Kindergarten sponsored by the Catholic/Evangelic Church would be the true label", he said.
• Similarities at Church-owned hospitals for example or other businesses run by the Church. Most of the 1,2 million jobs there are payed/subventionated directly or indirectly by the state. But the conditions are only dictated by the Church. A non-member either doesn´t get a job there or at least can´t get in certain positions. The Churches don´t allow work committees. Less worker´s participation and confession enforcement in Christ´s name. Cleaning personal according to this Panorama documentary earns up to 30 % less - but don´t even have the right to strike as their "normal" colleagues. The Church is the only institution in Germany with it´s own employment law.

Additionally to above ancient titles, both Churches get Church taxes of about 9.000.000.000 € each year. Payed only by their members. But also this tax is collected by the German State for none. Germany is the only country in the world I know of, where this Church tax is collected by the State..

• Both Churches don´t have to pay taxes by themselves.
• The direct and indirect payments of the German State is about over 14.000.000.000 € each year (incl. the amount, which the German State renounce at by not raising taxes for the Church or for tax exemption on the Church tax by their members).
• Another 10.000.000.000 €, which the State pays for social institutions "owned by the Church" aren´t even in the above sum!!
• The Church is the biggest landowner in the Western World. Only in Germany the Church owns 8,25 Mrd. qm2. In the Italian city of Rome, c.1/3 of the real estates belong to the Vatican (every 4th house there). In some other cities of Italy and also Germany it´s alleged to be similar.
• If the local Church builds a new kindergarten, only 1/3 of the realty has to be payed by the Church. 1/3 pays the local Community (by all it´s inhabitants, if Catholic, Evangelic, Muslim, Atheists or of any other different faith) and the last 1/3 pays the State. But sole-owner is the Church! That way, the Church property is increasing constantly. Also the maintenance is mostly payed from the State/Community.
• Another source by Dr. Carsten Frerk claims, that both Churches even have asserts of about 662.000.000.000 €. With the art treasures, the estimates go even over 1 Billion €.
• Both Churches allege their right for still getting payments/subventions from the state with the condemnation in 1803 under Napoleon (secularisation in Germany). But they hide the fact, that their disappropiated assets back those days mostly only was accumulated by criminal manner: falsification of documents, legacy hunting, exploitation, witch trials and interest usury.
• The gold treasure of the Vatican is estimated as the second biggest behind the USA and amounted to a total of 3.500.000.000 €
• The entire property of the Vatican at stocks and other share ownership is estimated currently of far over 100 Mrd. €
• Employees in Church-owned businesses/institutions (for examples hospitals), can get fired only for getting divorced or living together with their partner in "wild marriage" - without even the right to sue against getting fired because of these reasons.
• If it comes to both Churches, the Communities/Cities and the State can pay for the secularisation and all these ancient treaties still the next 1000 years and more - if no one says stop, it´s enough.
